About Sovereign Harbour Berth Holders Association

Sovereign Harbour Berth Holders Association was formed in 1999 and is RYA affiliated.

The Association benefits berth holders as well as the harbour management. The two work together in a collaborative way to ensure the harbour runs smoothly and effectively to meet the needs of the members and we achieve this through regular meetings and contact with the Management.

We run a variety of courses, some of which are often lead by Mark Sawyer, Principal of Sea Training Sussex or other experts. We work closely with Eastbourne Lifeboats or the RNLI’s Water Safety team and also organise a wide range of social events where you can meet like minded people.

At present the membership stands at approximately one third of all of the boats in the harbour. This is well above the national average for such groups and means we have a strong voice. Each harbour has a representative.

Members enjoy the benefit of discounts with many of the Waterfront traders and restaurants. Many of the marina suppliers and other local businesses also offer discounts.

Members also receive three newsletters a year. These are full of information, anecdotes and interesting articles from members.
